I read the post on fixing the problem if speeds 1-2 are not working. I cant seem to get the 4th speed to work although all of the other speeds work.
I replaced the coil pack with one from a junked GT and still no 4th blower fan speed.
The a/c light goes out too when you put it into 4th. I really need to get this working because its getting damn hot in CO. Any suggestions?

I guess I could conclude this thread. I figured this our a year ago. Very simply the wire inside the hvac unit that is conected to the #4 fan speed came unsoldered. I simply resoldered it and we were good to go.
It wasn't the resister, but inside the hvac controls themself. Go figure.

Interesting, thanks for posting back. On fan speed 4 the resistor pack should be completely bypassed via one of the wires on it so it couldn't be a resistor.

Thanks evo626. You may have resolved the exact same problem I'm having with my daughter's vehicle (not a Mazda). I tried like 5 different resistor packs and couldn't understand why fan speed #4 refused to work. At least I have another direction to go in now.
Mine had stopped working so I asked evo and he finished this thread up, but mine just started working again.... I dunno. Maybe I was just crazy when I thought it wasn't working....
I'm running into this problem now, and will see if Evo's fix is the issue. Mine was working fine, I shut down the car to run into a 7-11 real fast, and when I come back out, speed 4 no workie...but all other's do...
One question - is this possible for both types of controls? When Evo did this, was it on the Non-GT style, manual sliders?
