Woohoo! ATX-MTX Swap done!

i thought the GT had power when it was an automatic.. good god.. ive never felt so much power in my life. I finally got it done, after a week of removing and installing transmisisons, and troubleshooting, and ripping trannys back off, doing other stuff, replacing other stuff... but its finally done.. at first, when i started it.. it wouldnt start - neutral safety switch.. got that squared away.. then it started, and made a really nasty grinding noise.. wheels would move.. almost killed myself.. stopped it, foudn out CV shaft came apart inside boot and twisted all over the place, got that fixed, put back on, the car moved, but the shifting was HORRIBLE. i had to use both hands to get it out of reverse, and then it wouldnt even go into another gear.. and when it would, they would be all in different places.. whats up with that? lol.. oh well.. the noise had stopped... yesterday.. im sitting in my friends driveway.. the noise starts again - by now im late for work and dont need this... i let it cool down a little bit, started it back up.. clutch was in the perfect place, and shifting was perfect... i can literally just.. push it out of gear and it will put itself into the next.. so fluid. i had put my steering column in the wrong way.. so the wheel was all crooked, but i fixed that today.. now i just have to cut off my automatic neutral safety switch, fix that wiring, find out what wires are the reverse lights... attach them to the MTX tranny, so that those work... and put my heater hosing stuff back under drivers side dash.. and ill be ALL done.. but it runs/drives beautiful now! woohoo! ... my speedometer does not work anymore.. what the hell.. thats my only problem.. and i put it back the right way.. does anyone know what it could be? maybe ill just detach the cable and reattach it.. who knows.. maybe it will work =/?

wow.. thats a long post huh? lol

also: what i did need, and what i didnt need for the swap:

the actual CV shafts do NOT need to be replaced.. the halfshalf axle thing.. on the passenger side, the one that goes INTO the transmission, needs to be swapped because the bracket it longer on the MTX shaft.. and the ATX will not reach the motor. i dont know about starters, because i swapped it anyway.. jsut to be on the safe side.. but from what i can see, they are EXACTLY the same.. so i dont think it needs replacing. if you leave the ATX neutral safety switch in park or neutral, you dont need to do any fancy wiring for the MTX clutch.. even tho its the easiest thing in the world, and will probably keep you from hitting something while starting in gear... The shim plate on the transmissions are different, and need replacing.. obviously the flywheel and clutch need replacing i dont know about the computer, i swapped anyway, but who knows... i now have an 89 GT ATX computer for sale, if anyone needs one.. i also have that halfshaft thing for sale... the master cylinder needs to be put in.. and do what i didnt do, replace the WHOLE clutch/brake assembly... soooooo much easier than just changing them.. plus it makes it much easier to put the master cylider in.. i didnt know the whole thing cmae out, so i drilled out the threads onthe master cylinder cause on the ATX, it has 2 studs instead of just one... sorry for the lengthy ass post.. but i think it might help someone..
