Valve tick only after hard driving?

I know the HLA topic has been beaten to death, but it seems like most ppl seem to have this problem while the engine is cold, or almost all the time.

But i think my situation could be slightly different.

My valvetrain is dead silent unless i drive it hard, WOT on boost maybe for a spirited drive, then the valve ticks very badly. If i drive around for a bit and let the engine cool down again, the valve tick will be gone.

If i shut off the car while the valves are still ticking, the engine will still tick the next morning in when engine is entirely cold. After the car has been driven gently for a while, the valvetrain is dead silent again.

Would changing my engine oil to a higher weighting, eg 20W50 improve this situation?

thanks in advance.

the best way to deal with it is to clean the HLA's and change your oil frequently.
