Brakes

I was trying to suddenly stop, one day, due to a quickly changing light. I was going too fast, i dunno how? (yes, i won). lol. Ok, but, seriously, I hit the brake pedal and it felt real hard, barely moved.
Well, the car was barely stopping. It will only do this at certain times. (Mostly when i need to stop in a hurry) Also, when turning, the steering wheel will get stiff after the "apex"of the turn. (Keep in mind i need to get an alignment done.)
I was thinking, maybe my booster is going out? Booster and ps pump? Or just the alignment itself, messing with my steering? Any suggestions?

I dunno about the steering problem... Too many factors that can play in that situation. For the brakes, it sounds like some sort of vaccum leak.

One of my first cylinder head jobs was on a 84 Cavalier (type 10). After everything was reassembled, the brakes were very hard and didn't work very well. I checked the pads and shoes, rebled the the brakes, and checked for leaks. Then my cousin came along and showed me that the vacuum hose to the booster (black thingy that the master cylinder is bolted to) wasn't connected. I hope this helps.

thanks man, i do have a leak, but, cannot find it Ill check the booster itself, because you never know, i could have knocked a vac line off, or hose. My hands were all around through there during the mtx conversion. My boost gauge used to read 20vac at idle, before my conversion. Now, it reads 15vac at idle. I'll check that out. Thanx again.
