Will 225/50-15's fit without rubbing? has anyone tried this? Tirerack has the ecsta 711's for $51 a piece and thats a ****ing great deal. Perhaps a 225/45 if the 50's hit?
putting 225/50's on the stock rims will be close. I think that tire might be too wide for the 88-89 rear strut perch. I don't think it will work without the 90-92 aas struts in the rear. Ask manifest about this as he has 225's on the stock rims with 90-92 probe aas struts and they fit.

These are going on stock rims.
Yet you just said "if I keep the same diameter of your 16's", which the stock rims are not. I believe the stock rims are 15x6, mine are 16x7. The tire is too wide for a 6" wide rim.

I have some aftermarket rear struts, KYB GR-2 I believe. Last owner replaced the AAS with them. I am saving for 2nd gen Illumina's and GC's. My 16x7 wheels with 225/45's do not rub on anything. Intrax springs too, btw.

damn I was under the impression that the stock rims were 7" wide. Now my plans are all shot to hell. Though Yokohama's web site says the range for 225/50r15's is 6-8".
First, 225/50/15 will definitely fit on the stock rim....ask manifest, he has them on his car. (Also, diameter refers to the distance across the face of the wheel, not the width)
Second, 88MX6GT, my point was that the tires might not fit with the stock 88-89 struts. You do not have those struts so I'm not sure how your fitment information would be valuable to a person wanting to know if it fits on a stock suspension (which I assume s1eeper has).
I had 225's in a 16 on some z32 300zx rims on the front of my car. Just fitted with the lip and cleared the strut by about a fingers width. My car has stock suspension. I cant remember the profile of the tire either.
I only tried on the front aswell, was only for a drag night.

Yes, depending on the rear strut it may or may not fit. I currently have the 225/50R15's and they do work. A bit soft on the turn in side. If I keep my sock rims rims I would go 205/55R15 though next time.
not stock, tokico HP's all around. I guess I will just use the pgt wheels I have after all and spend $80 per tire versus $50. Going with the 225/45 16's I think
I believe mine are 42 offset. Whatever Discount tire direct pulled up for my car. I told them what I drove, the gave me a list of wheels that will fit (actually I did it online, but same thing). I just scrolled through the listings until I found what I wanted.
