Really, what would you NOT do with it. Seems like this car has everything besides an upgraded turbo. Just slap on a T-bird and your set for some good road racing. Why not ![]() |

[quote=s1eeper]If I lived on that side of the states it would be mine in a heartbeat. Shipping would kill it for me. [quote]
Shipping might not be as much as you think, I shipped my GT from Austin, TX to central Massachusetts this past summer for around $700. Just depends on what the reserve is... BID ON IT! ![]() |

I actually doubt the turbo has been upgraded. rules were pretty tight on turbo cars back then and still are now.
I wouldnt be interested in this car unless I has a series to run it in and a way to maintain it. Its cool to see again, but way more car than I or anyone else here could ever manage. This car is light years beyond what Ill be building up. Brakes? Custom. Its not that hard to make a brake system when you have an Alcon catalogue and a machine shop to make anything you want from scratch. Mazda MX6. Built by Jim Downing composites in the late 80s for the IMSA GTU class powered by a rotary motor. I forget the name of the drivers. The car was very good winning on its first time out. It racked up a number of wins and a few championships the 2-3 years it ran. Mazda decided on a bodystyle change to the 2nd gen RX7. Made better sense as RXs were powered by rotaries and it made for better brand marketing. The RX bodied Downing cars went on to pretty much rule GTU having championships 11 years straight. Gavin |
