I would buy that car in a hurry if I still lived on the east coast. Seems like alot of the parts are beat up, but as long as they still work it doesnt really matter.
I like the idea of extrude honing the intake manifold, and the turbo exhaust side with a seperate wastegate is where it's at:
Wow that car is pretty cool. Someone invested a lot of time and money into that thing. The custom brakes, FSTB, radiator, and turbo setup look top notch. I wonder if they put in a different steering rack seeing as the car has no p/s pump. I also wonder about the custom PCV system that's installed.
It would be really cool if the person/people who built this car could get on mx6.com and talk about the modifications they did - they seem quite extensive.
umm....it is gaudy, dirty and beat-up....I do like some of his/her ideas with modding tho.
Oh, I can someone tell me the need for S.S. Braided on a breather line?
Ricers have no brand loyalties, no taste, no direction, no guidance and certainly no common sense. Ignorance runs rampant among them and they usaually have two mods equivalent to an intake/exhaust combo and talk **** about faster cars with every excuse in the book why their cars arent as fast but are better than said car.
the engine looks nice and clean and i love that turbo setup, I would buy it but im not sure if its a good idea, as it has been in two wrecks and I think i would do better with putting that kind of money into one of my cars, rather than buying a 3rd.
WHAT!? My engine bay looks like that and I have 155k miles on mine. That bay is not clean, that car is not clean. It is beat.

This is one of the old Team Highball cars that used to run in the old Escort/Firehawk and BFGoodrich series. Major contenders in their days. The guys at Mazdaspeed Motorsports remember them well(they werent direct sponsors of them back then but they remember the pounding they got from the cars).
This isnt a home-brew setup. This is a built racecar. I was in contact for a bit, with a guy who know the Highball team well. These cars were run pretty high strung. 8-900Lb springs front, 11-1200lb rear, 30+mm custom adjustable swaybars. The engines, reputedly, were ran REALLY LEAN... like detonation lean. Its no surprise they routinely had to replace pistons.
Catch can, stock turbo, stock bypass, stock IC and intake system, refabricated/relocated shock towers, siamese dumps, the integrated swaybar mounts to the chassis, what looks to be a thermocouple for the front brake rotors, Delrin bushings if Im not mistaken, NACA fresh air ducts, lexan windshields, Tilton pedals(?), Brake bias adjuster, gutted hood....very well done, as it should be.
I see a racecar much like any of the modern Speedvision series cars(which originated from the Escort/Firestone series). What are you guys looking at?
