HOLY [shizzle]! You bought that [fizzle]ing thing?? I saw that on Ebay MONTHS ago for sale and would have taken it in a heartbeat had I the money. Er, you friend bought it anyway.
Very nice. I'm a bit jealous. I had a great idea of turning it into a streetable car. With that suspention setup it would be pretty fun! But of course a lot of work.
What's funny, is my friend works very close to the place that car came from in Linden, NJ. He was telling me about it, and I was like "oh yeah, I know about that car.". I was considering buying it too. But I didnt know what I'd do with it.

Sorry ive been busy, that car drives but has low compression in a couple of cylinders, but i think nothing below 100. Idles rough, because idle control is not stock, very nice setup overall, needs at a minimum the work to get teh compression back to normal. Catchcan is real cool. Took it for a few spins in a lot, and the suspension is real nice, and easily adjustable with no tools.
But its also just sitting for right now, My friend dont know what to do with it, and I think im gonna buy it from him after i graduate school 1.5yrs from now.
Just sitting, that sucks, should sell it to someone that can use it now, that would be cool to see it back on the track where it belongs.
Need a buyer pm me, I'l buy it, cash in hand!
Here are some more which gavin saved from the original thread:
I agree that your friend should sell it to someone who is actually going to use it for it's intended purpose. This is far to historical of an MX6 to sit in someones garage or in their driveway under a tarp, or even worse, in a junkyard (shudder)
Your plans to buy this car are in 1 1/2 years? Look how long it's sat already before your friend bought it, and since your friend bought it- almost a year already. Don't let it go to the junkyard.
Buy a racecar without knowledge of what sanctioning body its legal to be run in? Without having a log book thats up to date, that documents what had been done and why, that has had the work signed off by race stewards? By doing work to a car not knowing what work is allowed or not? When was the last time that car was stripped down and checked over?
Yeah, I think enoughs been done already.
Assuming you have enough scratch just to run the car regardless of sanctioning bodies, you would need a minimum of a tow vehicle, trailer and support equipment(fuel, tires, etc). I wont even mention knowledge that you have to have already of what does what in regards to the cars workings(engine/suspension). The bar is set very high in a car like this, its not a matter of "turn up the boost and its got swaybars" get in the car and itll be fine.
