I'm happy with 14.7 but 16 won't cause death.

How many people?

More than 8.7 million?

That's how many were driving around with unsafe ignition switches in their Fords.

I don't believe that the number of people using a device is necessarily an indication of its safety.

I think that depends upon your definition of "right" and your definition of "fine".

I happen to think the cost difference between mechanical gauge and electronic gauge does not merit cutting corners on cost. Maybe if "u install it right", it might be a good gamble, but if your mechanical skills are on a par with your linguistic skills, I'd rate it a bad bet.

Absolutely! I was one of the 8.7 million people who made the mistake of purchasing a Ford that got recalled for ignition switch safety issues.

But the issue at hand is the safety of mechanical oil pressure gauges. I just brought up the issues of Ford recalling nearly 9 million cars to illlustrate to you that just because you felt that many users equals safety does make it true. And i just brought up the issue of your abysmal language usage because I've seen that so often in conjunction with abysmal mechanical skills. In this case abysmal mechancial skills for the DIY installer equate to safety concerns.

Your name-calling skills, however, are magnificent. Name-calling is the last resort of the intellectually bankrupt.

I/m certain you could kick the snot out of me in hand-to-hand combat.

I'm not certain that's my definition of "a real man" though.

Is that your definition of correct grammar and syntax?

I'm certain your driving skills are on par with your mechanical and linguistic skills. 60 ft times? IQ? Bicep? All the same answer?

see your racing at a track. I would assume that people that are taking there cars to that track are serious about the cars. They are not going to cheap it. However as i have seen on this board people are more interested in saving a buck then doing things right.

Please Note: The above statement is in no way the advice or comment of a professional, just an idiot working on a car in the driveway.

Thumbs down

And I was wondering why you would want 280° oil in the passenger compartment??????
please do some research and find me more than one isolated incident where a mechanical oil pressure guage has failed causing hot oil to be spewed all over the driver. otherwise cease spewing such trash from your mouth as there's really no use for it.

and I happen to realize that this thread isn't titled "what sleepcounter thinks about the cost difference between mechanical and electronic oil pressure guages. I see no gamble in this, if it's installed right than the only possible way it would go wrong would be through manufacturer defect.

do you have any basis for this assumption? I'd say you're overcompensating with your linguistic skills my friend.
