and that is actually.....really helpful
It doesnt matter to me at the moment as I was able to get some factory shims for the reshim of the diff, but is anyone else is brave enough(or stupid enough) to do this...the info is there(provided that ford actually still has the parts). Gavin |

Gavin- I had been watching this for a while now and logged ina little too late:
$27. ![]() I confirmed the part numbers when the auction started through my Ford manuals. It was/is a combination of MTX and ATX SST's along with a few other goodies thrown in as well. |

I read your guide Gavin, and went and bought the right bearings. But, after seeing they needed to be 21mm thick, i added a 1mm shim underneath each bearing. Only to reassemble the gearbox, and find the case would not close. It had a 2mm gap. Destroyed the bearings pulling them back off the diff, so a new set later and they went in perfect! The bearings I got are Koyo brand, made in Japan. And i just got them from a bearing wholesaler. Part no. is 32009JRYA1 On the off chance that anyone else uses this guide, you may want to update it! |

This is absolutely correct.
I just checked the old diff and bearings and saw my error. The diff bearings are roller bearings. They have two conical races sandwiching the bearings and bearing cage. The bearing cage actually extends ~1mm above the measured bearing surfaces. I mistakenly added that extra height to the total thickness of the bearing. Changing the post. Gavin |

Good to hear! Hope nobody else got caught out by this. Though I doubt anyone did, to quote you Gavin -

And if anyone is interested. I have done about 10,000kms on the guru without issue. I drive the car every single day, my sister drives the car sometimes and cant even tell its different than before. So normal driving they just feel like a stock diff. Traction in light rain is improved, and cornering in the wet feels much better. Last edited by jesiotrot : 9-30-08 at 4:24. |

Unfortunately no. Guru motorsports did two production runs of the diff with the stipulation that there would be buyers for the items when the diffs were done. Guru still has the plans and the jigs for a possible 3rd production run, but there has to be a minimum of 10(or was it 15?) buyers at the ready. The last time this was attempted there werent enough people to make it happen.
