SOME of the larger mazda/ford light vans have the same box with a different tail shaft extension, and this bellhousing bolted up to a crappy 82ps 8 valve sohc 2 litre FE. some dont have this box, but instead have the more common m series box that the mx5,ute,na rx7,smaller vans etc have. it may have been something to do with the configuration of the cargo bay, maybe seats = small box, plywood deck = large?

either way, the vans look the same until you stick your head underneath.

i wouldnt be surprised if they are a world wide thing, what surprises me is that no-one else found them, and publicised it first.

not overly common here either, but i've seen 5 with this box, and only looked twice. also called ford econovan maxi... as far as i can tell, there are only 3 people who would want one in the states anyway. maybe theres a few more out there with turboed f2s, but how crazy do they all drive?

anyone know what "project turbo truck"s current email is? i'd like to let him know about this...

it cost sfa, but i dont give my time away free anymore, so that would exceed the cost of the parts, and the shipping would likely exceed that again. the cost of the parts are likely $15nz - $100nz (depending on the stupidity of the girl on the desk) + 10litres gas(far side of wiiiiddde auckland) at 1.45/l at the moment, + 20 per hour i spend lying in a pool of mud and broken glass hurting myself getting it out + 5bucks for a feed afterwards. you may or may not think that i'm being greedy or unreasonable, but i just cant afford to do anything else anymore. maybe when i'm "richer" i'll consider just being nice again.

it will probably take 2 - 4 hours to pull it and pack it.

also i wont be giving them that thorough a clean before sending either.

that took another two hours +

i wouldnt mind(depending upon my current situation, ok at the moment), but they have to become available too. i'll keep an eye out.

have a look at the all together pic, and decide what of it you will want.

those cast brackets are different in geometry than the ute ones, so you'll need them, the fork is slightly different too, so you'll want that, you'll want the rubber boots, but not the exhaust bracket, maybe the bolts?

and ofcourse the tin, and bell itself.

ok if you can find out what shipping will be, and as long as it isn't a ton to ship it then we have a deal, and just to make sure all prices where in nzd correct? i would want every thhing but the exhaust bracket

thanks again

yep NZ dollars.

1.5 - 2 kg $40 - $60 depending on which service
2 - 5 85 - 110
5 - 10 140 - 175
10 - 15 190 - 230
15 - 20 235 - 285

i think these figures are for the top of each range, so it could be less than 235 for a 16kg parcel for example. i dont know what it all weighs, but can find out soonish. it would be a very good idea far me to wander down to the local rotary shop and put it next to the 13b bell, to double check fitment. youd be very pissed off to get it and find out it doesnt fit for some silly reason. also i'd really like to get some paint in and on my chassis, its sitting there all lonely at the moment, with the cab balanced precariously a foot above it.

its good for us both that the nz dollar is relatively weak :-)

i'll let you know when i know more. same to dj jake with regard to camshaft weight.

I took the bell housing down to the rotary place and put it next to the rotary one, it is the same. i'll let you know next time i get over to pick a part.

how urgent is it for you?

i could be willing to part with mine if the price was right. that is if my bidding doesnt go well this week on the 7 box...
