I've started riding my bike a lot again.... like I did before I had my car. Although it depends on where I'm going.

I bought a road-racing bicycle. It's a bit gay, but you can get around town fast, if you live in the city. 15 min to downtown, and don't have to search for hours for parking.
Kerrisdale (the 'burb where I live) is so full of old people that for the most part, I'm passing 'em on my bike anyways. Saving gas on the highway -> drive at the speed limit. Your efficiency drops considerably even if you're only going 10 km/h over. Also, make sure your tire pressure is correct. Soft tires = rolling resistance. |

Until I got in my car accident (idiot ran a stop sign, resulting in a ruptured disc in my spine), I rode 2000-3000+ miles / year. It keeps you young and thin, is environmentally and fiscally more responsible, and you look COOL... not GAY! OK, if you wear the spandex and brightly colored sponsor covered shirts - that's a little gay. But definitely no gayer than putting vinyl stickers on your car. Now that's GAY! ![]() Last edited by ChilliConCarnag : 9-6-05 at 18:40. Reason: spelling error |

you wanna save gas, well if your not turbo ofcourse buy your self one of those "Tornados" u see at every autozone and Napa for $65, i was suspicious but my GF put one in her 96 3.8v6 t-bird and I went from like 15.6mpg. to 18.3 and that was with me driving hard she usually gets around 18mpg when she drives so we are expecting around 20-21mpg next fill up with her driving. it also did actually give a little more power. not much but a little more get up and go.

I have to disagree with the Tornado suggestion. Just do a proper tuneup instead. No one has ever seen any gains in HP or gas mileage from these devices, although they may have felt it in their reliable "seat of the pants" dyno. See what consumer reports has to say. http://www.consumerreports.org/main/...East_id=333137

Just because they advertise for the Tornado on Horsepower TV doesnt mean it works. It's a waste of $70, instead, buy a few tanks of gas.

I filled up on Sunday for $3.49 a gallon Premium. that was somewhere outside of morgantown, wv. everywhere between pittsburgh and blacksburg, va was about the same though. ridiculous...
and i have been BABYING the sh*t out of my car, if i even drive it. like <2k rpm all the time, unless of course im in 5th. i dont care if cars behind me want me to accel. faster, they can pay for my next tank. im lucky we have an excellent bus system at my school tho (virginia tech) b/c i take that EVERYWHERE. i havent started my car since sunday. |
