In my 89pgl I get a consistent 30mpg. No p/s no a/c and an msd 6a box but the msd box made the most increase in fuel mileage.
Bottom line if you want to save gas….drive less, plan you route.

bitching and moaning about gas prices will never help anything. If you think gas is too high then get rid of your car and walk/ride your bike somewhere. Atleast then you will get some excercise.

I think adding a turbo to my car was the most fun mistake ever. Its addicting but obviously kills your gas mileage when you wanna have a little fun. Especially filling up with this damn 93 octane [shizzle]

for a fuel cost update, here in appalachia ( 2nd poorest area in the US ) gasoline is 3.55/gal reg and 3.75/gal premium. best way to get the best fuel performance is obviously dont drive or keep your foot out of the accelerator. however, tune ups ( new plugs and wires ) on a regular basis ( i change plugs every year ) and proper tire inflation will do wonders as will a good alignment. the only reason i can think a turbonator would work is since the engine is getting less air ( blockage in the airway, small but still a constriction ) the O2 sensor will turn down the fuel used to match the air flow.. thus less fuel used and less power given.

Try this, advance your ignition timing couple of degrees but not too much. If you hear " pinging " then your too far advanced. This has worked for me so far on my 90 civic hatch. After observing numerous trips on the odo before advancing I can get usually 270-290 miles on about a full tank. Now I can go up to 350. Maybe its just me. If anyone noticed increased gas mileage post your comments.

Not true. Ask any Engineere.

Using the AC decreases Horse Power on average by 5-8HP. This has no effect on milage in most situations.

By keeping your windows up, you decrease the Drag and increase the arodynamics of the car. Which simply stated gives you More MPG at the cost of Reduced power.
