I raced like 4-5 people last night...........
AND, on the day I filled up my tank I raced someone twice.

Normal driving I shift lower and use the A/C.

Anyone want a NICE 1G? :-/

oh and one other way to make sure you're getting the best gas mileage is:
Make sure you're tires are properly inflated...mine were not and I filled em up last night.

I hope that was a typo, because using the ac does NOT help with gas mileage. In fact, AC significantly decreases gas mileage.

No acually if you drive fast and have your windows down it uses more gas because you have so much drag

At speed AC is better than the windows down yes, but if you any accelerating you're just killing your gas mileage because it can be such a parasitic draw driving around town.

I'ts a piece of cake to bake a pretty cake, if the way is hazy
You gotta do the cooking by the book, you know you can't be lazy

Ive never noticed?? I just keep it in the 0 (not in vac or boost) when driving around/taking off.

It was on Mythbusters. HEHEHE

Well, Im actually pleased at my cars milage so far. I thought it would be getting horrible milage because of piston ring. I raced my friend on Wensday night which was when I filled up with gas. Needle didnt move after that and we raced 2 times, not to mention a few boosted runs to make sure my car was worthy of racing.

Thursday I ran errands all day bu used my A/C. Friday I worked, the drive to and from work is a good amount. Again, the A/C was on. After I got out I drove around for about 2 hours and went to a local hang out.

Saturday I worked also, used the A/C. Got out of work and went to our car meet. Got some races set-up and raced a few times. I now have a half tank. Not bad Id say. Probably add some $3.20 premium fuel on Tuesday.

Anyone want a NICE 1G? :-/

We weren't talking about the windows or drag, just AC. If you have the windows down AND the ac on, then turn the ac off you will get better mileage. AC decreases your gas mileage, never increases it. Yes, having the windows down decreases gas mileage as well, but that's a seperate issue altogether. Personally, if I'm going fast and need to cool off I tilt the sunroof up and crack all 4 windows.

Don't steel gas from the station they have cameras, your friend will get caught. Find the local subburban comando driving a Hummer and syphon his gas to your tank, he'll prabably never notice 15 gallons missing and think he burnt it backing out of the drive way.

My best suggestion is simply WALK!!!! yeah it sounds stupid but how many times do you make an absolutely unnecassry trip to the store down the street or tried to look cool driving down the street cuz you saw a hot chick. If before you leave the house you write down all the places you need to go and map out your route you'll save significant amounts of gas. As for me I'm walking to school and work, and I probly won't be cruising for a couple of weeks. 60 bucks a week on gas is not realistic for a college student such as myself.
