I have a 2.5" straight pipe w/glasspack and evoII muffler and I love it. Absoultely tolerable at regular RPMs, yet sounds mean when the RPMs rise. Though my glasspack is totally shot, damn, I need a new one.

If it breaks, you'll get a raspy sound. 25$, no biggie.

i put a glasspack on my other GT after having it straight piped for a while. cut down on probably 80% of the rasp i had with a straight pipe. i think with a little larger of a glasspack it'd have eliminated the rasp into a nice clean exhaust note. sounded really good.

(way to bring up an old thread BTW )

Screw a $25 glasspack. Go with the real deal and quit playing games:

If the individual's budget allows.

A 25$ glasspack will do the job for many people.

Not dissing your thread or anything.... it's a good thread.

If you aren't going to do something right, don't do it at all.

The classic cherry bomb glasspack isnt the best by any means.

if you want the real deal and are running anything larger than 2" diameter piping, most definitely go with the one damian posted up. not cheap, but worth the money if you plan on keeping the car.

I put one on my pathfinder pre-turbo only because it was the perfect length, i was keeping the stock 2" piping, and it was easy to find locally and I needed it fast plus a 4500lb pathfinder wont notice the difference

If what breaks? I hope you don't mean "THE GLASS"

FYI... glass, isn't "glass." its fiberglass. nothing to break there. it CAN blow out, maybe, but I would call that "breaking." I've yet to see it happen and if I were worried about it you sure as funk wouldnt find me putting a 22" long one directly upstream from a turbine wheel.

yeah my glasspack was on strictly as something to take up space really. never intended it to be a "performance" upgrade by any means. had 2" piping and a glasspack just happened to fill the void. currently unsure as to which direction i'm going with exhaust as of now. i've got just straight pipe from the turbo back right now.

exhaust tho, is not a priority. my suspension however (non-existant currently) is.

what about keeping this quiet. I plan on using the stock piping minus the cat and i slightly larger tip for now on my project 4ws. Anyone come up with qiet performance exhaust. I like my pace[shizzle]ter with straight pipes up front but too much resonence. I want my black 4ws to be stealthy and near silent.

Use the resonator I posted instead of a POS knock off glasspack. Leave that for the highschool teeners with no income besides lunch money.

will do. I was leaning towards that from the beginning, i didn't think glass packs were for anything but hondas.

That's because Hondas too are for highschool kids.

Glasspacks really are just a cheap imitaition of a real resonator. That being said, they still do sound great on some cars. My brother's 3.0 Probe has one, and it sounds a lot better than it did with a muffler. But they are cheap. I've personally seen a few of them break internally, and one clogged the exhaust

I fail to understand.

The glasspack did it's job wholly and entirely for me...

Sure, they're not the best, easily.

But the glasspack mellowed out and helped rid my exhaust of rasp...

I fail to see what is so bad about it.
