If the pipe breaks you can simply slide another section over it and hold it temporarily with exhaust wrap which works great in a pinch. This whole thing could have been temporarily fixed long ago for less than $10.

As far as this being my job, it's far from it. If I had a dollar for every piece of good advice I've given I'd be a rich man and you know it. I just see bad information on the regular and give my opinion. Believe me, I've wondered why I bother for many years now. I'm pretty much done with this site.
For christs sake man, give the guy a break.

Yes, bits of the exhaust CAN fall off. I couldn't tell you how many times I've had to get under the Capella with the MIG and reattach the bracket in the middle (no cat on my car). No bracket attached = two hangers meaning squat. And the rear...

I had the freakin muffler FALL OFF. There was NO hangers, because the last guy had moved them about to his own liking. I drive a few hundred KM to go visit my girlfriend at the time, and the muffler fell off with a clang, sparks, loud exhaust, person braking behind me violently... no danging by a hanger, it was OFF. It took five minutes stumbling by the roadside trying to find the damn thing in the dark to take home and weld back on.

It can happen. And I can see exactly where he's coming from. Yes, it's dangerous, nobody is debating that. But sometimes, just sometimes, it's not possible to fix something as soon as it breaks.

it will sound like a honda (waaaaaaaaaaaa, waaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!) glass packs suck. dont use a cheap muffler from the auto parts store or some other crappy brand you got cheap on ebay. try a magnaflow, flowmaster, gibson, borla, remus, brullen, racing dynamics, ansa, greddy, apexi or hks. CHEAP MUFFLERS SOUND LIKE CRAP AND THEY RUST AWAY PRETTY QUICKLY(STEEL) OR THEY CRACK AND FALL APART(STAINLESS STEEL)

Lol. Re-reading that made me laugh. One christmas I was driving home and as I left the car in gear headed towards a stoplight a white puff of exhuast came out of the ebrake area and choked me. Needless to say, the small boot/gasket on the ebrake cable had slipped out.

I'ts a piece of cake to bake a pretty cake, if the way is hazy
