I have pulled my AC and using just the tensioner now. i have the ac compressor out and have an extra fan left over.
i was wondering if their is a way to have this run like a dual fan setup on the radiator? has anyone done this? if so can anyone tell me how to wire that up so they both come on same time? another idea was if it could somehow be mounted to cool the intercooler better??(or could that cause more harm(restricition) than good?) Karma for those who reply. ~ADAM~ |

well i dont mind soldering and i have plenty of room to play with>(how many can say they have room in our bays?LOL)
i even had a thought of placing one fan in front of the rad. and the other behind it like an exhaust fan which also will blow directly @ the turbo. still id like to know if maybe putting that fan in front of the intercooler is a bad thing? |

![]() thanks defiler, karma 2 u. Weird question, My friends old integra sometime the fan would either stay on or come on later after the car was off and the key pulled... we'd be drinking a beer or something and all the sudden the car would start making noise, the first time we heard it it scared the hell outa us. was that normal for the hondas to do that? the reason i ask is because i'd like to know if anything on the 1st gen Mx6 does something similar and if so maybe after cooling down the car(u know the manual turbo timer__where u stay inside while all ur friend run in the mall w/o you!), the 2nd fan could kick in later while i was already out and provide additional cooling. i know what u think, just get the turbo timer; but im having trouble with my e-brake cables and they wont hold the 6 on too many hills, and i live in Pittsburgh PA, all we have are [fizzle]ing hills ![]() |

That's exactly what I had done on my old 626. A/C and all of it components were out while the A/C fan was wired with my rad fan. Worked great! Just splice the wires coming from the A/C fan with the wires to the rad fan. Get the polarity right though, so the fan pushes the air through... I never had a problem with it... and ran 13.9's

thanks 307, sent u some KARMA, which wires when doing polarity do u know, im soldering not taping?
defiler_ i gotta spread some more around... off topic i think, I removed the AC aluminum lines from the firewall, should I plug that big ass hole up or is it okay to leave open? i can see some slight coolant still in there. any harm? if so maybe just duct tape it off. |

You're forgetting that one fan pushes and the other pulls. Also, the AC compressor fan (the metal one) wired into the same circuit as the radiator fan will cause both fans to slow down. This is fact.
If you want a better fan, buy a better fan. |

is their a way to run power for the second fan(maybe direct to batt) and just use the sensor/relay from the rad to trigger it?

Why would you do that? The fan is a turd and the radiator works fine as is. I also love when people write "karma for answers" but don't give it when they don't like the answer they're given.
