fuel manafement system question

well i just bought my car yesturday and the guy who owned it before me put on a aftermarket fuel system and now the car is starving for fuel... im not sure why??? since i dont know much about the car or the mods that have been done to it yet im not sure where to start.

could someone tell me how to adjust the air/fuel mixture or anything else that may help?

i will post photos of the system as soon as i can, i realise its hard to figure out a problem when you cant see what you need to help someone fix.

thanks guys,
Chad

Congrats on the new car, what did you get?? I personally have no experience with external FMS but I'm sure it would help the group to know what BRAND of FMS is installed as well as any model numbers.

If you can ask the PO, ask all of this information as he'd be more up to speed on how to adjust the system than anyone else, providing he knew what he was doing when HE installed it.

before offering any ideas/solutions i would like to ask what leads you to the conclusion that the car is starving for fuel?

Like a stuttering? I would check/replace your spark plugs, wires, disty cap and rotor. I would also check your charge pipes and throttle body boot for cracks. Take off all of your pipes and visually inspect/bend/manhandle all the rubber pieces to see if you find any cracks.

Really?

Or very crappy plug wires. I had this problem...I would only build 4-5psi until it would studder and not build any higher. I had a boot that was cracked in half.

seems like 90% of the time its the throttle body boot. I know mine has a small crack in it (n/a). I'm not really trying to push power at the moment so i dont' care so much about it but take of your boot and check it out and see whats the dilly-o
