having problems with some new chips
I have tried several of the name chips on the market for the first generation mx6 turbo and seem to be having the same problem with all of them, either the car is flooded out and won't start or the car runs but surges badly when you get on the gas. When I return to a baseline chip ( stock ) the car runs normal. My thought on this that with the bigger injectors and fuel pump that I am running on my car the engine is getting way too much gas with the name chips or this is some sort of reaction to the fuel cut being removed as it is in most aftermarket chips. Any suggestions on this would be great.

Geez a chip with the stock turbo sends your a/f all the way rich.
And thats with stock injectors and pump. The chips are made to suit the stock turbo at higher boost or a mild turbo upgrade at moderate boost. Even then they run pretty rich. Either go back to the stock chip. Or run the mod chip with standard injectors. P.S the standard injectors are theoretically enough for over 250 fwhp. |

I'll think about it, right now I can't work on my car ( fractured tibia ). I've run these injectors for about 4 or 5 years and they work great. They where listed as a direct fit for our cars from Venom performance products. I have tried 4or 5 chips that have name recognition to people on this site and all of them do the same thing , I guess that I will run the stock ecu/chip setup until I figure out what I want to do about my injectors.

Yes, Most of the chip that are talked about on this site. I now beleive, as suggested above that my problem is in running larger injectors and not in any fault of any of the chips I've been using. The car has run the same ( sputters when you get on the gas ) with all the chips that I have run.

I can't see it just being the injectors, I mean it would have done it before too.
The chip changes the fuel cuve a bit, but nothing that drastic. was the socket possibly soldered in wrong, or solder touching anywhere? maybe try the stock chip in there..... or another ecu. (i'd be interested in the injectors too if you were to sell them) |
