what model?

hey im looking at a guys mx6 to buy and its pretty much sealed and dealed but he doesn't really seem to know what hes talking about so if some one could answer me these questions it would be good

he said its a 92 model but its the new shape and i thought the only came in in 93

and its a 4ws version but i didn't think they made them on the 92 model.

it has the same kw's as my current car and i'm just wondering if theres any way i can start to do to start getting some extra power out of it. cause i spoke to a mate and he said that anything short of rebuilding the engine isn't going to achieve much

cheers guys i know there probably stupid questions but i ahv to know as im fairly new to mx6's and mazdas cheers guys

well im not entirely sure what they had in Australia, but if its the 93-97 body style its obviously a 93-97 2nd gen mx6. I dont think they ever came out with 4ws as 88-89 were the only years here in the U.S.

Since it seems to be a 93 with the newer body style you would have better luck posting in the 2nd gen forum right below this one on the main page. You will find more answers there. Also, try to find out a little more aboutt he car, like engine size and stuff like that.

Chops, you need to ask your questions in the 2g forum.

The forums are primarily USA biased, and the USA didn't get the 2g MX6 until 1993, the rest of the world got it in 1992.

Another way of looking at the model years is this:

Non-USA
1987-1991 MX6 --> 1gen --> based off of GD model 626
1992-1996 MX6 --> 2gen --> based off of GE model 626

USA
1988-1992 MX6 --> 1gen
1993-->1997 MX6 --> 2gen

And yes, the 2gen came with 4ws in non-USA markets.
