Dont worry I'll still be around in June

A friend of mine recently put an FE3 + h-type box into a BG sedan, so i know exactly what you were going through! Lots of little things needed to be modified to make it fit.

There is pics here -

He was trying to make it look like it came with an FE from factory.

That is a great looking install! His mounts look stock as hell. If there are, Where the hell did he get them? I fabbed them up myself and will redo them when all is done. Theyre so damn ugly. I had to lower the rear crossmember because the motor was too high up. I didnt see any pics of his lower member being shimmied. Got some godly mount making skills!

He made the gearbox mounts himself, the drivers side one is an off the shelf item from another mazda motor with the cradle slightly modified to suit.

The gearbox crossmember was made wider, you can see the difference between the stock one in the pic.

And the rear crossmember was modified to clear the diff housing, it only needed the tiniest bit taken off, and unless you have it next to a stock one you cant even tell its been modified. The pic of them both is there, but its hard to tell where it has been changed (unless you know )

The FE only JUST clears the bonnet, as its a slightly shorter motor than an F2. He had to take out a 100x50mm rectangle of the bonnet support crap, so the cam gear cover wouldn't touch the bonnet. It has about 3mm of clearance.

Ya mine clears the bonnet by about the same thing maybe a tiny bit more but I had to take out the supports in the hood and shim the crossmember in the back by 3/4 of an inch with square tube so if one side wants to tip it can't because the other side is attached to it also. Very interesting.
