well after slacking and being told by the good ppl on mx6.com. i need plug wires. i would like a good pair no bout. so for the f2's anyone recommend any? ngk, accel, etc....?
MSD is my pick..awesome quality, boots don't break when you take them off the plug...and the ones I have are the lowest resistance out there(unless there are any new ones that now hold that claim) But either way I highly recomend them.
NOTE you have to custom make them as they are universal but its easy as hell to do but also they are pricey as you get what you pay.
Don't forget, 8mm and up runs a larger risk at breaking your plastic wire holders. WIth the orientation possibly leaving them hanging close to your manifold, they could then fail prematurely.
OEM ngk's are the only pre made ones i trust. ive seen 2 sets of magnecores fall apart. 1 set was myown, and i took good care of them, and the plugs still pulled right off without any real power. same thing happened to the custom PRD wires i had ordered.
i stick to the ACCEL v8 universal wire sets. and just make them myself. they NEVER break. and i get two entire sets of wires, for the price of one. and like i said. these never break. thats why i keep using them. its sad i can put the plug ends on better in my garage then magnecore or PRD can do as a buisness. lol
My MSD are 8.8mm or 8.5 can't remember. However mine have never touched the manifold(for at least the past 6 or so years I've owned em but i cansee fastest's point BUT trust me it'snot a big an issue as might be percieved(i'm refering to his comment about the stock clips not holding em).
oh and very very important: DO NOT BUY TAYLOR WIRES!! COMPLETE GARBAGE..only way you should get those is IF you plan on never taking them off again, they break like no tomorow.
i was running a set of cut your own universal Taylors on my 89lx n/a actually with high temp boots. they lasted about a year without issue. but one developed a break, and had started to slightly miss. now have another set of accel universals on there in fancy red. lol.
