Now, is that 1 inch shorter or 1 inch longer (since a-spec 2g struts are already shorter)? And I hate to ask you to state the obvious, but we're talking about the "yellows,' right?

If so, I'm excited

Yeah, okay, so I just found them too...right there...in the international Koni site's catalogue.

8610-1305Sport front
8610-1306Sport rear

Gavin, you got a place that will import them for you?

Correct on the part numbers.

I have yet to confirm fully, but my suspicion is they are an inch longer for both the front AND the rear. The A-spec 2nd gen rear struts are the same length as the 1st gens.

Couple things here. If these are built the way I believe they are they will not accept the 1st gens plastic strut bearing. The 1st gen came spec'ed with 2 different strut bearings(probably a running change over the years), a large metal strut bearing and a small plastic strut bearing. Both are specific to their respective strut tower mounts. Also at the stock front length they wont like excessive lowering(easy fix is dont lower too much).

shox.com are willing to import them. There is a wait of a few months though.

ok brothers i figured out how to protect the strut shaft with the coilover setup, since i already tried out.

just buy the dust boots for offroad trucks and will need to cut around a 1/3 of it on the bottom, since the boots are too long anyways and the very bottom is too wide to fit inside the coilover setup.

just make sure to zip tie the bottom part to the strut to make sure it doesnt allow any dirt in there and VOILA you now have cool looking fully protected struts while sporting coilovers.

hope this helps you my fellow brothers

Good, as with my super pro stuff and whiteline swaybars are still sitting there (too cold to work on the car). Guru Torsen comming in, and a few other minor items to work on when it gets warmer, I can fill out my list for the new year.

Energy Suspension part # 9.5124R 20mm sway bar bushing and bracket $16.99. The bracket is the same size as the stocker, incase something happens to your front brackets or bushings and you don't have time to order from Au....the bracket is also way beefier than stock

Unneccessary.

The bushings included with the swaybays are more than adequite. The modification is minimal and easy to accomplish. The stock brackets are quite strong and perfectly fine to be reused again and again. No reason to throw the baby out with the bathwater.

no actually, if your control arm breaks and your endlink comes through the metal, you could easily bend or break the bracket for your swaybar. When I was fixing mine, a friend was over and said that something similar happened to his control arm, he broke his sway bar bracket off on a freeway exit ramp...

This is as long a long distance call as any I have seen. "Theres a definete possibility of a probability that something may definetly happen"

I understand that this may be a concern of yours and this is how you choose to combat it, thats fine. I consider myself fairly aware of the incidents you speak of(can probably count all of them on one hand) and have assessed their merit. My conclusions have lead me to count it low on the list of possibilities and I have treated it as such. This is not a concern of mine.

On another note, Ive noticed that this thread is just a bit over a year old. Seems like so long ago that this whole mess was started . After a year of driving around and tweaking the car I have found some likes and dislikes(ok mostly dislikes, I can be a harsh taskmaster) and have started plans for the 2nd phase of things.

Most of the items that have been places on my car will either be removed, replaced or modified from its original state. There are plans afoot and I intend to have them realized.

The sequel has already started
