unfortunately, i dont have a digital camera, but I am getting one in a month. I can describe it to you. Okay, pop your hood. Top right, against the big hump that holds the strut. There is a bracket that holds a black box. Its maybe 2 by 3 inches. It has some bumps in it. That is the coil. There are 2 wires going to it through the BOTTOM. One is black, and the other is black with a white stripe. Tap the Black wire (negative) for an RPM reading. Also, your spark plug wires. 4 wires go to the spark plugs, and the 5th goes to the coil on the top. Any more questions post here. I still need the speed sensor wire..........

so the negative side of the coil does work the the hks type 1 then? i would have done that 4 months ago when i installed it but i didn't think that we could use the signal off the coil, like on a standard tach. hmmm... i'll go search for the speed sensor wiring, someone pm'd me last night about it.

found it:

take out your instrument cluster, on the back of the circuit board is a screw with the letters RS on it. Just run the wire with a ring terminal to it and that's your speed wire.

in the same post the guy mentioned that the rpm wire could be found in the wiring loom going to the cluster but couldn't remeber which wire it was.

Thumbs up

thanks so much. I did this today and it works. My screw said R-S W or something. Its copper and right behind the speedometer, you cant miss it. To take out the gauge cluster, you must disconnect your speedometer from the transmission, otherwise you can't move the gauges forward.
