SDS em4-4f I will be buying this month

So I have decided to buy the sds em4 4f system. Only problem is I dont think I can build the CAS brakets myself. Is there anyone that can do this for me? redneck wink wink. .
Are the crank pullys on the FE3 and the F2 the same. If so I can send the pull out to be worked on.
Also I will need a base fule map to make it run, does anyone have it for the na FE3?
I reileze I need a wideband o2 to tune it. What is the cheapest one I can get without doing the DIY wideband.
I need help with this part of the projetc.

I think I can make the bracket no problem. Don't know about drilling the pulley though, I don't have a gauge to check depth. I will see if I can do it with a drill press. If not, I am sure a shop will do that for you really cheap.

I would just need the sensor. Redneck or fallguy or any other SDS tuned fe3 owner, where do you bolt the bracket on the block? Is there a cover or something that already has a tapped hole? let us know

Re: SDS em4-4f I will be buying this month

I'm just curious, but i thought you were going to use one of the perfect power EMS's. how come you are not using it anymore and going SDS? is it because you do not want to rewire a protege ECU or is it because the system is not as good as SDS?

Most of the perfect power stuff needs a laptop to work. And the systems I was looking at all were piggy back systems. I was going to buy the protege ecu but couldn't find one local and decided it wouldn't do what I wanted.
The sds is one of the only systems that doesn't need a laptop to program and is price well and has a lot of really good features. Although I'm also looking into an ecu buy microtec. What ever it is I'll be getting one this month.

Ok thanks. pretty much the same boat here. To date my only resonable choices are SDS Perfectpower and Microtech aswell. I'm leaning towards Perfect power due to costs since i am tapped out of cash. If you don't have a laptop i can understand that fact that getting one will add to the cost and hand held programmers are more convienient.

Sorry I haven't been on here in a while.......just read this.

evo look on your motor to the right of the crank pulley...there should be a hole...or bolt there I believe it has something around a 5/8 head on it that is where my sensor is bolted to

Just pm me for any ?'s or anything I can help with........or my computer is always on AIM after 3pm everyday..hint hint

Could you take a picture of it? You can just send it to my email. lukeman18@yahoo.com
Did you make a bracket for it? or is it just bolted directly to the motor? Also are F2 and FE3 crank pullies the same? If so I might send my pull to someone to have them put the magnets on it. Or I might have a shop do it up here and I'll do the rest of the wiring.

I don't have a digi cam but I can try to get a couple of pics this weekend for you.

I can't remember if the pulleys are the same.....

I put my magnets in on a drill press

also you have to make a bracket for it. Make sure you mount the magnets in the correct way....two go one way and one is opposite. Before you use something to make them stay in forever, hold the sensor over it and make sure the screen says magnet seen on the 2 that are the same. and sync magnet seen on the one that is opposite......if you don't do this you will really, really hate yourself later.

Just buy a $100 lap top off ebay. lol

I am just like Evo was when he first started, I don't want to dump down $1300 for a stand alone. personally, i would rather spend time and learn than spend money. that's the way I am with all my mods.

anyone opting for a different setup than the sds, let us know. i am not a cheap ass really, but i cant let myself throw down $1300 for a computer when there could be other alternatives. i just cant. money isnt really an issue either since i have saved so much this past year. i have not made up my own mind, but then again i don't have an fe3 under my hood.

My car has been ghetto rigged for to long. I'm surprised I haven't blown the motor with my crapy tuning. Fortuanly I cant get the car to run lean so that has saved it.
I'm tried of cutting corners and have learned with this car that if you want the performance you have to spend the cash. The SDS is one of the cheapest but best systems for the money.
I work at a computer store and sell laptops cheap, I could get one for under $50 but really want something that is easy to program. The SDS is the easiest ecu to program. As for the CAS bracket and pully, I'm going to take the car to a shop and have them install that part. This way I know its done right and I won't have to worry about it. The rest of the tunning should be fairly easy.
