You also - oil it after cleaning.
Some opil does get sucked into the system especially if oyu over fill it but - alot of off road guys do it deliberatly - due to the sand and dust
The thing is too much oil also kills the advantage of the fre flowing air filter.
One thing I think alot of people forget is it's all about the air path.
The more you disturb the air path the more you remove the speed form it and the flow
it's why I'm a big beliver in large area surface and panels in good straiigh flow boxes'
the 80's is perfect example
1st gen box is stragiht through desgin using the most surface area of the air box.
a VL to VR air box is worst as it has small entry and the desgin allows limited use of the fitler surface. Straight desgin it is not more of a zig zag.
A few euros like Pergout had a good one - and few toyotas.
