can someone please take the time and explain step by step on how to paint a car ( the same colour)??

i have a red mx6 91 and the paint is starten to crack and fade and i have a SILVER bonnet, i went a got a quote on a respray and the told me ova $5000 because the paint was craking up?? i don't wanna change the colour just refresh it!! and i am gonna remove the spoiler i think it looks better plus it will b easyer to paint!!

so if someone the has some experience could give a step by step instuctions i would really apreciate it alot, coz i don't wanna spend that kinder money plus i wanna have a go myself!!
