If you're only running 1 egt, then I'd vote collector. It'll be hard to know if another cylinder gets hotter with it only in one runner. If you have it at the collector you'll have a cumulative temp - if it rises you'll know something is up. I placed mine just prior to the turbine flange primarily because that's a default aircraft location.
