Ok .. well we are in a bit of a mess eh ...
Right .... here we go ...
Pic 1 - it looks like the PCV hose is going to the rear breather pipe, and not the connection in the inlet manifold.. basically, you have got two breather pipes coming off the front rocker cover, the one coming out of the top of it, shoud be connected to the port on the NECK of the inlet manifold just behind the throttle body. The other breather pipe starts at the front of the rocker cover above the exhaust manifold, works its way around in a metal pipe, then goes rubber again and then connects to another metal pipe just under the throttle body... from the looks of the picture, these two pipes are the wrong way round and will cause you a smoke problem.
Pic 2 - Looks like an O2 sensor and is in the right area.
Pic 3 - Same again
pic 4 - Earth Strap, Should be connected to one of the 2 big mount bolts in the picture, above and to the left of your thumb.
pic 5 - Looks like the same O2 sensor.
pic 6 - dont know without seeing where it is, in the engine bay.
pic 7 - Woah .. water temp sensors not connected... does your rad fan come on straight away when driving ? if so you need that second water temp sensor connected, that being the one in pic 9.
pic 8 - Picture of a std 2.5 engine.
pic 9 - water temp sensor.
pic 10 - right .. top left looks like the rear O2 sensor connector. The thick black pipe in the back ground looks like either the brake servo booster pipe or the BAC/IAC vac pipe (attached to the bottom of the throttle body). The 2 vac pipes you have hold of could be anything .. use the vacuum pic i will post as a guide.
You mention you bought the engine in Kent, do you live in kent then ? if so i'm in faversham, if your close by, feel free to trip over and we can see what we can do.
Paul.
