Turk, I really do understand where you are coming from but in most other countries the price has slowly increased or always been much higher. I agree Americans are pampered babies because we pay more for water, coffee and just about every liquid substance compared to fuel. Diesel prices here are almost $5 USD now and one year ago it was around $2.50 so in a years time it has doubled. Granted many people around the world pay even $15+/gal but when companies are hit with twice as much fuel charge overnight like this its hard to plan for it or budget around it. Plain and simple, the oil corporations of the world are taking advantage of ALL OF US. There really isnt a way to stop it, they are too rich and have too much control on the system. Someone needs to design an electric car already, its not that difficult!! Screw hybrids, thats unefficient and a waste. We need either water or air powered cars heh.
Ethenol is a waste of time. The government is paying farms to hand over their corn supply for E85 and its more expensive than 87 octane, its rare in the midwest where its needed most, and it burns TERRIBLE in most engines ultimately causing fuel pump and injector failure. Im surprised they havent tried to make engines run on gold and silver lol.
