Im new here but I am the moderator of Electrical Audio and Security at www.celica.net anyway, one thing that seems to be left out is that when you have 2 4ohm subs in parallel on one channel of an amp, because its at 1 channel (even though its technically a 2 ohm load) the amp will SEE it as 1 ohm. However, most amps that are rated at 2 ohm mono stable, have to provide for that. So in essence its technically its a 1 ohm load and the amp will draw current for 1 ohm. Meaning it will draw more current than normal and produce more heat. If I left anything out let me know. Another thing, unless you have a Capacitor, I dont recommend running 2 4ohm subs in parallel because the stress of the amp drawing the power from the electrical system to make up for a "1 ohm load". Ive killed 2 alternators without a capacitor doing that. Just adding my .02.
