If the government had tougher laws on criminals, we might have less crime. But instead of chopping the thief's hand off, they slap him on his wrist. It's ridiculous. The problem is also in the society. There'd be no need for insuring your car against theft if the society was upright and 'civilised' as they like to call themselves. Jealousy, envy, greed, these are all diseases of the heart. People are nurturing their materialistic desires even if it means transgressing on someone elses rights, or even taking their lives, just to get what they want. What they are forgetting to nurture is their soul... and their hearts.

He (Jesus) said: "Verily, I am a servant of Allah, He has given me the Scripture and made me a Prophet;
And He has made me blessed wheresoever I be, and has enjoined on me prayer, and charity, as long as I live.
And dutiful to my mother, and made me not arrogant, unblest.
And peace be upon me the day I was born, and the day I die, and the day I shall be raised alive!" Qur'aan [19 (Mary):30-33]
