they are better. The valvetrain in FE3 heads sucks bigass stock. Can't even rev to stock revlimit on most heads (7300rpm), even that it's a dual-spring design
4g63 heads are better with a much ligher valvetrain and it's no problem to rev 8500-9000 with stock single springs in my evo1 head
I use a pair of 280 cams with somewhere aroung 11mm lift. No problems with stock HLA's and rocker arms.
How much would you say a stock FE3 head can take without porting it?
I like the FE3 much and a FE3 bottom end with 4g63 head would be nice
