No they can't.. NO COP can make you etest your car WHENEVER they want. Don't even argue, they can't. period. Etests are valid for 2 years. If you have a etest on your car fake or not, and it says pass... then its a pass in the system and thats the end of it.
The story about changing your address to get a sticker, this is true.. North of toronto which is the Haliburton county line, etest are not needed, so i know of people saying there reg address is there cottage so they don't need an etest.. If they change there address back, then YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!! a cop can see if it has a test or not on it.. and when he pulls ya over, see no etest on it, and sees your address on your license as NOT north of toronto, then YES thats getting caught. But most license bureaus see that on there system and usually make you get a permit so you can get an etest.. What happens here is the driver has a valid sticker, so he leaves with his new address on license, and just throws the temp out and hope his plates never get ran.
