AWR 19mm swaybar (2G) first impression/review

I would like to share my experience with the AWR 19mm anti-sway bar. Any other member that has it on here will most definitely tell you the same thing: its an amazing piece.

About a year and a half ago I put an order in for the AWR coilover setup, AWR 19mm sway bar, AWR trailing arms and AWR front and rear endlinks. There were issues with the struts valving so there was a long delay. Tony decided to ship out the sway and trailing arms and said that the coilovers would come later. I figured I would install the sway bar and trailing arms before so that when the coils arrived I wouldn’t have much more work.

A few days later I received the sway bar and trailing arms. My buddy was over that day and figured he would help me install it. I was rockin Tokico blues with H&R springs at the time of the sway install.

The install took a couple of hours at most and went smoothly. Me and my buddy installed the sway bar without removing the lateral links as was stated that we would have to do in the directions.

My first impression of the sway bar just rolling down the street was “damn!” I could already feel a positive difference in the rear end just rolling in a straight line. I drove out to a nearby freeway onramp and was coming in hot. I absolutely [shizzle] my pants when I came out of that corner! My buddy was in the car and he was shocked by how little body roll the car showed. Not only was less body roll showing but a neutral balance feeling appeared. The front didn’t want to plow any more and the rear was happier but not too happy. In short the car had more of a RWD feel.

Fast forward a year and a half and the bar is still glossy and the endlinks are in perfect working condition. The links can be a tad clunky at really slow speeds but the trade off is more then worth it.
