It’s crossed my mind a few times but the logistics would be a bit of a nightmare. Don’t get me wrong, I think it would be a great idea and I’m all for it.

I think the reason we don’t get together more often is the distance between most of us and as Robert says it can work out a bit costly,
but if we all put a bit of effort in I think it is achievable.

My thought were to some sort of workshop weekend.
Obviously it would need to be a place where cars could be worked on without causing large disruption, a works car park or somewhere.
If there was a Travelodge nearby accommodation could be as little as £12 per night per double/twin room.
There is always the concern that some would use it to get their cars worked on by others so some arrangements would have to made so that everyone chipped in, even if it was just help prepping or cleaning parts.
When it comes to the cost of attending a weekend such as this probably the best way to look at it is if you need a cam belt or water pump doing (and you haven’t got the confidence to do it yourself) you would be looking at the best part of £200 in a garage. Having experts (loose term) around to guide you through the process would be invaluable and a dam sight more cost effective.

Maybe a start would be a get together and have someone give a talk on something like fitting HID’s, refurbing a calliper, building a ‘code puller’ etc.

Anyway I’m in

Mark
