HOW-TO: LED parking lights for J-Spec Headlights

Parking Lights

Tools
- 5 mm drill
- soldering iron

Parts
- 2 Bright 5 mm LEDs
- 2 LED current limiting resistors ~1 KOhm (should be safe, depends on the LED)
- 2 Terminals
- Heat resisiting wire

Procedure

Remove headlights
Remove signal bulbs
Remove the ventilation tube in the signallight corner
Drill carefully throught the reflector
Use the vacuum cleaner to get the pieces out.

Solder ~1KOhm resistor series to the LED, isolate all wires.
Carefully remove LED collar
Add some wire and guide it through the ventilation tubing

Fasten the terminal to the headlight
Connect the wires
* on the picture I used 47 Ohm 5W ballast resistor, but later I found out its unnecessary

E-Spec MX6 doesnt need any chassis modifications to use J-Spec headlights, only wiring needs some changes.

For signals one can use W16W bulbs, that will fix fast blinking problem.

very nice! but....is it worth it? i know how the normal parking lights on the jspecs arent that good but are these THAT much better?

Yeah, I'd like to see some Night shots! It might be worth it. You can't even see my blinkers on during the day...

As I used normal parking lights as turns and I dont have j-spec foglights

Get some W16W or W21W bulbs

Are you sure about that? From what I have seen there is still some physical modding required (in particular with regards to the back part which hold the light in position) since the Jspecs are 1-piece, whereas the Especs are 2-piece.

Considering I just installed them to E-Spec, I'm pretty much sure
Some relay board was on my way on the AC side, but you can bend it like 15 degrees and it is perfect fit.

I'll do some pictures then its settled

Looks good, but the LED looks like nothing when the headlights are on.
