how to make lip kit - self made lip kit - cheap :)

Thanks to this post ... I got da spirit to make the lip kit ... cuz i didnt want to spend a whole lot o money! I bought the 16 feet door seal for approx. $15 and two 3M double sided tapes .. each for $4 ...

THat's not that bad for a DIY project. Much sanding is required but the end result looks like a B+

wow, that doesn't look bad at all. I think I may try this.

What kind of door seal was it? did you get it from home depot?

Only thing I would change is the way you bonded it to the bumper...3M tape won't hold for that long.

Yeah I used garage door seal from home depot .. item number 03749 .. its 16 ft .. cuz unlike the ones who did before me .. i made a potruding design ... so needed more door seal ... and the 3M tape is indoor/outdoor type. The lip kit is very light ... cuz its a spongy material .. not solid rubber .. but does the job pretty well ...

Additional info: you cannot sand this stuff, its kinda sot rubbery .. so its a direct primer,paint gloss ... or maybe only paint and gloss .. if primer cracks up ...
