Grin How To: Seat Swap

I got both front seats from Chef, who hooked it up.

Started taken the seats apart and the once I got to the driver side back of the seat decided it might be good to make a how to for this. So I am lacking some pictures but hopefully can answer any thing I may leave out. Sorry

So basically you will need:
•Driver seat, mine had a motor
•Good passenger seat
•Wire cutters, philips and flat head screw driver
•Wrenches, some pliers, and I found an Awl was helpful
•Decent socket set
•Wire ties if you don’t feel like putting the metal rings back in

Take all the plastic housing off with the screwdriver and set aside.

Ok, you got your passenger seat; you will need to take the bottom part of the seat.
Driver seat will have wiring hooked to the bottom pop those out. and unscrew the black part from the front and wiggle it out.
It is held in by 4 bolts, 2 on the bottom in the back and 2 in the front on the sides.

There are metal rings holding the foam and leather to the metal frame. You will need to clip these or undo them if you plan to reuse them.

Once this is done, pull the leather up over the sides just enough to pull the metal frame out of the foam. This step will be done with the other bottom seat as well.

The foam from the passenger seat foam should fit on the driver frame just fine you will need to push down on the front to get it snug. The front will need some customization. Basically just roll the overkill leather and attach it with zip ties to the frame. The rest is pretty self explanatory.
.

Once you have the bottom of the seat out, you may want to pull the wire holding the 2 sides of the seat out. (passenger seat)

Pop the head rest out and use some pliers and yank up on the plastic parts holding it. They should give with a little tug. This will free the top of the center piece.

There are bolts on both sides of the seat. The center console sides of both (passenger and driver) have only 1 bolt holding them in.
The door side has a metal piece that goes up where the seat drop is. You will have to take that piece out.
(passenger seat)
The button should pop off with some pulling and the plastic protector piece will fall off after that, there is a metal part inside you need to pull out also. After that there are 2 bolts 1 should be visible the other you will have to stretch the leather up to get to it.
(driver seat)
For this one I had to play around and cut the leather because the leather was trash. OR
(THIS IS ALSO HOW TO DISASSEMBLE BOTH SEATS)
The back of the seats will pop off with the flat head, there are 2 things on either side, and 2 on the bottom. Start from the top and gently pull the top of one side and you will see where it hooks. Push in and towards the front if the seat and it should pop out, do this for both side and lift the bottom out.

There are metal rings all throughout the back of the seat.
Start from the bottom and work your way up is what I did but take note of how they are hooked together because the leather over laps on the bottom.

Once you have all the bottom rings out, cut the ones in the middle holding the front center part in. take the center out and put it aside. Cut where I show the wire ties

Pull the leather from the sides where its hooked on
There are metal piping holding the sides you will need to use the flat head and pry those open and pop em out.

WHAM at this point you pretty much have the seat apart.
Carefully pull the up and over the foam until it’s all up at the top there is more metal piping hooking the sides and the top in place

After unhooking the sides and prying the top one out you should be able to take both the foam and leather off the frame.
(Once you get the foam off you will have access to the bolts holding the base to the frame)
Basically do this backwards to reassemble the seat.
The leather from the passenger seat will leave a hole on the center console side when you are done. It mostly gets covered by console but you should be able to take leather from the driver seat and either glue or sew over it.
