How To:Install Air/Fuel Ratio Gauge
This guide is to give you the information needed to tackle your own Air/Fuel ratio gauge installation.I personally used a Sunpro gauge so the installation or wire colors might be different with others.
*Warning I am not responsible for anything that happens due to using this Guide.Common sense should be used when working with electrical systems* Parts Needed: Gauge Extra Wire Female Splice adapters Wire taps Step one: There should be four diffent color wires on the wiring harness for the gauge.Mine was White,Black,Green, and Red.Take the red wire and that is to be connected to a 12v power source which comes on with the ignition.I used the power wire that goes to the radio. Also, I used the ground that goes to the radio for the Black wire. Step two: This is the step I needed extra wire for.The white wire is to be connected to the lights relay so when you turn the lights on the gauge lights up for night for this i ran the white wire through the fire wall to the bumper side markers and used a wire tap to tap into the orange power wire. Step three: I also needed extra wire for this.Take the green wire and run it through the firewall to the 02 sensor located straight down in the middle front of the car n the exhaust downpipe and I used another wire tap and connect the green wire to the 02 sensors black wire. Step four: Make sure all your connections are safe and i would recommend using shrink tubing or electrical tape to cover the connection to the 02 sensor just to be safe. Step five: Turn the car on and make sure everything is in proper working order and there you have it an easy job done. Hope this gives anybody the info they needed. |
