2 tone?

so my friend has all the stuff for painting, thing is since my hood is messed upi need a new one, should after i get it let him paint my hood, the top of my car and my trunk+spoiler?

its gonna be his first time, and hes gonna paint it black. any suggestions? i think he is the kinda person who would be good at it so anybody think its a good idea or should i just wait and get it done.(will be a while till its done by a pro).and as of now my car isnt that good enough that it would be graded on the quality of the paint.

al i have to pay for is the paint, and thats if he wants me too, his dad has money so i think it would be free.

my car

I wouldn't do it. If you want to go the two-tone route, then look into some CF hoods...that should look good with your current paint.

you should get some clear side markers for the front and lower it then your car would look great! Im not sure about the 2 tone though unless you get a cf trunk then it would look decent as long as you kept it near the top of the car

o i sprayed my corners black already the top pik is a lot newer. i dont think u guys understand, i have some money but not a lot and a cf hood and trunk cost around 500ish each. after shipping. this would cost me like 100-200 if that.

o and i plan on getting cf stuff anyway just not for a while, gotta do a tranny swap first over winter.

Then save your money man. You don't want your buddy to do a first-time spray job (that might come out crappy) just because you want a look that you can't afford right now. I say, it's better to save and do it right, the way you want, then to jump into something you won't like after three days of looking at it.

I agree with Seth. I just painted my car two-tone two weeks ago and I love it. You will be better off taking it to a professional. It's alot of work in two-toning a car.

two tone isn't so bad...
im not doing it to my new 6...
but i loved it on my old one...
the paint was nice, i did it myself...
the passenger side body work could have been better though

Takes some skill to paint, and tape off nice straight lines. I wouldn't risk your money and time to get a friend who has never painted a car before. 9/10 times it will turn out [shizzle]ty. All it takes is one slight lifted edge on the tape for it to be ruined.

Good luck...But i say the car looks fine as is for now. Save your money.
