mazda6 lip question

i bought a lip from fleabay(waiting for delivery) my question is, do they have to be cut in the middle like i've seen some people do it(neptune)he said in his thread he had to cut 5" out of the middle, i dont plan on mounting it as low as his.

I dunno, I don't think Dom had to cut his, I'm not sure though.

i guess it all depends on how you plan to mount it. Dom had his molded to his bumper but I imagine that it would of had to of been chopped before they started working on it.

You'll see when you get it how it will sit and how much longer (and differently shaped) it is from your bumper

you only did an inch? I guess yours is also molded so that might be the difference there but I hacked off quite a bit more

depends how crazy you want to go with it. Are you planning on getting it molded to the body? If so,I'd fiberglass or bondo it, then sand and paint it.

i really don't wanna mold it just in case i decide to get a new oem front bumper later on. if i have to end up fiberglassing/bondo-ing it, then i have no choice though. also, another question: how did you guys get the corner of the lip to sit flush with the bumper ? it seems like it'll fit better after i trim the middle though. i'll take some pix this weekend.

You have to "force" it to fit the shape of our bumper. Use either some brackets or some wire to properly secure it into position. Or just trim some off the top so it follows the line on the bottom of the bumper
