Should a wire in a relay for my hid?

What would be the advantage of wiring in a relay for HID's?

You NEED to include a relay in your wiring harness for HIDs...other wise it wont work. If you need a wiring diagram for it, hit me up.

You dont need to for them to work. However it is recommended.

The stock headlight wires come from relays. However there small and dinky.. Im not sure if that hurts anything since the ballast consumes less power then a stock bulb.

yes man, put a relay in. It is not NECESSARY, but it will save you if a bulb goes out!

again ,
its the initial stat-up that draws a significant amount of power. Once they have ignited and have finished the illumination procedure the current consumption is very efficient. The relay scheme alows reduction by a fraction of the load apon start-up and contain the load if it exceedes the maximum capacity, allowing the system to stabilize and prevent hunting.

^ correct...you run a very high risk of damaging your ballasts if you wire directly to the stock wires.

sorry guys, I was slacking on the diagram...however that one posted above will work. Ive been away for the holidays so I haven't been on the site in about 2 weeks, lol.

true, you guys have to remember we run halogen stock, and the wire is thinner compared to an oem vehicle equipped with hid. You need to run a relay so you can get the power directly from the battery to get a safe gauge wire running and sufficient power

um dude the relay is already there - i sent it to you labelled and everything. you *should* get another (or two) as spares, since if the relay blows (not common, but possible) then you'll be without lights.

howd the install go - get them up and running yet, with the high beams?
