I dont like them on a red mx6.. any of the colors that are offered. Here some ideas i was toying with:
I kinda like them with out the clear cover, the clear makes them look to much like a headlight. I also dont like niteshades or tints (maybe on a dark color car) also the clear that went to the tail pictured is now damaged beyond repair. The only option is to make another one
they are quick photoshops, the real deal wont look as busy.
I have nothing to lose anymore, so im going to go ahead and continue messing with them
what id like to do is try to fill in the deep spots so tha they are flush with the lens's..
wait, so you had to cut the lens' off?? did you try baking them in the oven and prying them apart with a screw driver? I'm considering a pair of these for my LED retro project as well, but if the only way to get the lens off is to cut them with a dremel...forget it!

1993 Mazda MX6 LS
Glow gauges with red bulbs behind dash, custom painted tail lights, BOMZ Racing CAI, HEI mod, TSX HID ASpec retro w/ hella gen 3 ballasts and philips 4300K D2S bulbs, custom clear turn signals, Cosmo Racing STS, Tokico Blue struts.
Please do not paint the tails red. The chrome looked alot better. Get some of the metallic paint and maybe you can make it a diff color. Black or grey but i wouldn't suggest the red

Yes, I already posted that I tried to bake them the same way that you would with the jspecs, aspecs, fogs and oem tails.
The clear starts to deform (sags into the lens's) if you let them get hot enough so that the glue melts.
I tried them at 250deg, for 5min, and the clear started to bend in the spot I pryed it, I used my hand with a glove at first, then tryed lightly prying with a butter knife. Wich eventually started to make the clear crack around the glued area.
So I heated them longer, same results. So i turned up the temp to 300deg, heated them for 5min more, by then he clear started to deform.. the glue was melted.. but the clear would sag and deform as I pryed on it.
I ended up using a thin dremel wheel (as robii suggested) wich eventually put a crack in the clear.. wich was already deformed so I just ripped the [shizzle] off the light by hand.
oh and btw, they will not be homy chromey id prefer to keep the stockers.. wich I might end up doing anyway
I would like to see the entire taillight all red (a little darker) and 2 horizontal LED bars running the length of the light and in the center would be the running light (obviously dimmer)
For reverse just put one white LED (in the inner corner) per light.
