What if you Did go with the ring of leds. Use those as the running lights. then use the bulb for brakes and turning? I've seen a maxima "98" style running the streets with the Skyline type tails. But it would suit the 6 much better since the 6 is actually a sports car. It would be nice if you could just buy the leds already wired up in ring formation and just glue them on youself or something. I'll do some searching myself.

re: sequential lights: Ours would look most like the mustang ones, if you red out the turn signal. the simple "fade into brake" pattern, and "sequential turn" signals should be perfectly legal.. you don't have any high speed blinking, strobe, or etc that typically gets the cops attention.. in fact the only problem might be the redded out turn signal ins ome states.. but the carw as offered that way stock, (m edition) so i doubt it would be an actual issue.

King, i think this would look particularly good with my set, given the red out look... have you decided what you're doing with yours yet? keeping them as above, without the clears?

btw you don't need LED's to do the sequential thing.. just a controller. After looking at various versions, i even think for the basic operation (ie: sequential turn signal, and fading into brake lights) that standard bulbs will look better because they have a short interval of brightening and dimming, aiding in the transition effect, whereas led's are instant on/off. If you want the strobe effect, and fast blinking, then you'd mneed LEDs.

*edit here's a link to a circuit to control LEDs
CircuitDB | Sequential Brake/Turn Lights

I'm still looking for a DIY incandescent circuit however.

The first tailight I did, the clear was damaged.. so I have no choice there.. I kinda dont like the clear anyway..it makes them look to much like a headlight.

I started working on the LED's.. trying to use the extra white leds I have.. wich isnt working. Apparently the white doesnt shine through the red lens very well.

Little late ^^ I already bought the tails.

I started screwing around with some scrap lexan peices.. used a hold saw to cut a cirlce and started working leds into it..
The white doesnt shine through very well though... for some reason one led didnt light up when I had it in the tail light

Can you get a pic a little further back? The look good imo. are you still going to use the regular bulb as well?

Im probaly going to swap them to red leds.. Im debating getting the 5mm red leds, as these 3mm just arent as bright.
