Taking Off the Driver Side Rest With the Window and Mirror Controls and Tweeters
Hey
I'm dying my interior and I was just wondering if anyone knows how to take that piece off with the window and mirror controls. Do you have to take off the door panel? Also, how do I get the stock tweeters out? Someone said they just pry out...thats not working for me...is that right? Thanks |

To get the tweeters out it's best if you remove the pannel that holds them in the front of the dash. The pannel is in a very cramped position that extendes across the front dash. It should just pry out if i remeber correctly *(GO SLOWLY)*
For best access remove anything within that area. The plastic pillar and side lid might add leverage again if removed. In regards to : window and mirror controls go very slowly for they are very easy to break if not removed correctly. Hope that helps ~kp |

To me, the best location to mount your tweeters is at the side mirror. It works better over there than the stock location. I realize this through my German ride.......I always wonder why stock CL & CLK sound as good as my MX6 with complete sound system change.............. Of course, I am not comparing witht he bass part.
However, it does not work well that way if you have a convertible........can some MX5 guys help out here? With convertible like my Z3, you need actual small speakers locate around the side mirror, than the tweeters at the MX6 stock location....... of cours big speaker behind you with small speakers installed in your head rest....... hope that help.............BTW, listen to those guys with the dissemble part. |
