Heating the spring up is a bad idea. The car looks good, not too high not too low.

Dont heat or cut your springs its a bad idea, you will soon just rebuy new springs after doing that.

Actually, that looks an awful lot like a 1" drop. The mx6 factory is a really low car, my car is actually sitting a little higher than stock (stiffer struts and higher comp. rate springs with same free length and # of coils = higher) and it's still pretty low. I'd say that's probably as advertised.
The stock ride is hella high. TOO high. There is nothing worse than a stock ride height mx6 imo.

I had the tockico blues and red tokico springs that your talking about. It really only does give you a 1in drop. I wasnt impressed.

I agree with King, your car looks great at it's current height, but if those assholes lowered your car by heating the springs, you might as well just get new ones now. Go with Eibach, 1.3" front, 1.2" rear.

Ground Controls are probably the best non "full coilover" springs you can get. Tokicos/Ground Controls is a good setup.

If they cut(melted) your springs than as far as a drop goes you might be a little higher with a spring combo set-up. If you wanna go that low again or maybe even lower i would also have to agree with the ground control coilovers and a tokico strut.
Your ride sucks right now cause you have hacked parts on your car. Plus, you have the same tires i have and i feel every bump on the road. If you just want a smooth ride and a slight drop you definetly want the tokico/eibach spring set-up.

You have 2 types of coilovers. Sleeve type coilovers (ground control) which require an aftermarket strut. They're basically an adjustable spring, the sleeve fits over the strut and the sleeve rotates to adjust height.
There are true coilover options which is all one peice strut and spring and is adjusted by loosening the locks and rotating the rings up or down. These are generally the best option. Front camber adjustment aswell as dampening. But will cost anywhere from 800 - 1200. They're are 3, k-sport($800), teins ($1000?) and leda's ($-?).
Either route you go, Ebay is pretty hard to beat for deals just don't buy ebay junk coilovers. If you wanna go sleeve just go Ground control.

i got k sport gt springs and they are awesome. i'll be posting pics within the next day or so. The gap is about the size of a credit card from top to bottom just a tad bit larger. and the rideis way better than stock imo. i used my stock struts as they were still in good working order

ok so cost effective tokico hps with tokico springs, but tokico struts with ground control coilovers would be better?

ive found full coilovers from D2 but they a bit expensive for me

well the ground controls are going to get you lower. With the tokico springs and struts you might actually sit a bit higher then you are now, atleast until they settle.

I'd go with gas-filled struts, like the ones available from Mazdaspeed. Much stiffer, less roll, better cornering (and I have timesheets to prove that), brakes faster, better transitions, more traction on throttle, etc. etc. btw - I have factory ride height (+- .1")

Sorry if I don't see you at the track... kinda hard to get a good look in the rearview.

Even if we did, it will probably be slightly different than yours because of different rim/tire sizes.
