Paint Interior painting rookie

Ok I used to try this on every car i owned and it always ended up just getting scratched and coming off within a couple of days. I just picked up a 6 and want to start playing with the interior. Can some one give me the painting for dummies breakdown on what to use and steps to take to make it look good and keep it from scratching off.

Thanks

Use the SEM dye products made for vinyl -- not regular paint. It sprays like paint, but is a different formula.

1994 MX-6 LS, Black, 5 Speed, tan leather, work in progress.

if you paint plastic go and get krylon fuzion. it sticks to plastic. that is if you are just doing a basic color. if not then a fine grit will do you just fine you just need a none smooth surface for the paint to stick and then prime it sand it smooth and then paint then clear.

thanx gonna play with it this weekend and see what I can do. Im fighting with myself on what color I want changed my mind on the exterior color either gonna go with black or gunmetal (big fan of dark colors) so either of those I can do pretty much any color interior. Just gonna shop around and see what I like best

yeah.

sand
clean with alcohol
clean x2
primer
krylon (any color)
krylon metallic if being used
krylon clear
let dry

i didnt need to use primer when i did mine. It was only in clear metallic that you could see in the sun.

be careful when you spray it! or itll run and look like [shizzle].

goodluck.
