having never personally seen the e-specs in my hands, Im not too sure how they would mount up but maybe just try making some brackets to at least give you an idea of how and where they should sit. How much needs to be modified on the aspec bumper to fit?

Heather did a write-up on installing jdm fogs and bumper to a-spec. Since jdm & e-spec front ends are identical minus the appearance of headlights and fogs, I'd assume the e-spec fogs would attach to the car the same way.
Too bad this write-up has no pix anymore: http://www.mx6.com/forums/2g-faq-app...aspec-mx6.html (How To: Fit JDM Bumper and JDM Fogs to Aspec MX6)

Ah, I know I'm making a boo boo, but I'm not gonna really look through that link on installing them.

My E-Spec fogs and head's arrived today, and I held the light over the A-Spec one to get an idea of placement, and since my 6 had it's fogs removed by some previous owner, I was able to just slide those in.

The problem is, the fitment is a lot easier to deal with than the heads, very simple brackets could be used from that it looks like, only problem is there's a large deal of space around them that isn't occupied(Apparently things aren't bigger just in Texas, try all of America. Even our foglights are fatter than in Europe. )

I'm sure you could perhaps do something with rubber or fiberglass, or w/e, and make something better than just brackets.

Here's why I say just brackets won't do... Excuse the really dirty 6.

So, even centered, there's room all around. Backed into one corner, leaves a whole corner open.

Looks like this'll be fun. Think I'll be consulting a shop to deal with that, personally. Still too much of a car n00b to pull this off myself.

Wouldn't've done. It wouldn't bolt up to the A-Spec bumper, and even if so, I'd STILL be looking at that HUGE gap all around. The E-Spec bumper is a bit different, bolts up differently iirc, and the foglights are also smaller, as you see. Check out a pic of one from the UK or wherever, and you'll see they're a perfect fit over there. Don't know why, I think just to annoy situations like this.

Happened to stop by Redline Customs the other day, the guy there said he can fab up a fiberglass insert around it to bolt the fogs up, and make it look OEM. Maybe not TRULY OEM, but, at least, no gap, lmao.

Since it'll eventually be in the paint shop, I can have anything severe about fitment of them worked out there, such as molding or w/e around it so there wouldn't be any lines showing that they're just inserts. I dunno, we'll see.

Just gotta wait for the next paycheck.... As far as just bolting them up, if you don't care about the space on either side of them, pretty sure Lowes could do you quite a lot of good with just $5, lmao. Haven't done the measurements for those just yet, perhaps Friday, or this weekend I'll get around to it. Depends on my work schedule.

Yes, I have yet to look at my work schedule past... Tomorrow...

Ah, see I'm leaving the lightbulbs stock, I could care less how bright, as long as I see enough. I don't need the horizon emitting from my front bumper.

After a ride in my brother's CX-9 with it's lights, oh my god. I was riding in it, and the light it was emitting was painful to ME. Not to mention how many cars flashed their brights at him for how bright his low beams are.

But yeah, I could make a bracket, but again, I don't want all the space left on the sides. I want it to be flush with the bumper all the way around, thus why I'm personally just gonna have a shop fab up some inserts and install them in.

If I had the E-Spec bumper, they'd fit easily, perfectly to be exact. Problem is, the E-Spec bumper doesn't bolt up to the A-Spec frame, right?

As well as I do believe it'd be more expensive to import one of those bumpers than to do what I intend to have done.

Btw, nice rim, lol.

A little off topic, but as for the Cx-9 They actually have The headlight adjustment option wich enables manual adjustment of the headlights from the cabin of thecx-9,cx-7 and most other new mazdas. The E-spec bumper does bolt up to the stock chassis, but will cost to ship it direct over-seas.

It does? Hmm. Next time I have to ride in that thing I'll have to see if he's found use of that or not. Out of curiosity then, how much was your's?

good to know they will fit easily with the proper bumper. (which i have).
whitie, have you check the passenger side?

btpilot. there is no way the especs would fit properly when all especs brackets are installed (ie: plastic and metal bracket) without hacking all the way to the frame. but its great to know that they would fit withouth them.
want to sell them back to me? LOL
anybody interested in my JDM bumper?

here is a pic of the jdm bumper with the especs fog fitted with only the plastic brackets. as you can they stick out way to much.
