The paint stood up well against the tire mounting machine. I didn't notice any scratches on the rim. In terms of time I let the paint dry, it was over a long period of time as I was pretty lazy in getting these done. I did two wheels with color and clear, waited a week as the paint had a dot texture because I painted them when it was too cold outside. Painted all the wheels a week later each with 3 coats of clear, waited a week, then painted 3 more clear coats on all the wheels. Between each coat of primer/color/clear, I used a tack cloth. It works wonders. Only waited about a day after the last clear coat before getting the tires mounted. no problems. oh yeah, in terms of weights, i only painted the outside of the wheel. didn't paint the inside of the wheel.
